SOCCER!!!

Kyler's VERY first soccer practice... It was fun to watch him out there playing and kicking the ball. 3-4 yr olds should be a lot of fun to watch.. No goalie either... I can't wait for his first game.

checking in

It has been so long since I posted anything. I looked at the date and I couldn't believe that it was March the last time I put anything on here. Well we are keeping busy here at Fort Hood and soon we will be saying goodbye to this home and moving onto another place in Georgia. That's right I said Georgia. Tad is going to Captain's Career Course at Fort Benning. He was here for basic and OBC so we are a little familiar with the area and we are glad that we are going there and not Fort Knox. I don't want to knock Kentucky or anything but we both hated or disliked a ton the surrounding areas of Fort Knox. We weren't even Louisville fans. You all may have heard of the movie Elizabethtown? That is the city that is right next door to Fort Knox. Blahhhh!!!! SO we are excited for this move although I have heard that the humidity and the heat there are worse than here. That part I am not looking forward to. You got to choose your battles I guess. We just got back from our first camping trip as a family. It was really great. We went to Blanco State Park down by San Antonio. It was really beautiful there. They had the river damned so there was a play area. They had canoes and kayaks that you could take down the river and of course tubes. Kyler would have nothing to do with the water, but Zach loved it. Kyler has a very strong aversion to any water that is not a swimming pool (even that is difficult) or a tub. He doesn't like the cold water. Maybe one day he will enjoy it. I took some pictures of the camp site and area. I thought I would post them on here. Hope everyone is great. We will let you all know where we go next after Benning. We should know by September.

Bahamas Cruise

Bahamas

We just got back from the Bahamas. It was a great trip. Really relaxing, but a little bit cold (if you can believe it)? It was hotter in Texas than it was in the Bahamas. Stupid cold fronts... Anyway, it was still fun, I have to say that I did get a little sea sick on the first night that we were there, but after that it was no problem. As I am writing this I can still feel the sway of the ship. I am beginning to wonder if it will ever go away. I am sure that it will. When we got the the island our first morning there we decided to take a tour of the island. Well it wasn't a tour of the island per say but about 100 acres of government land. We rode segways. I am sure you have all seen what I am talking about. They are these 2 wheel bikes, I guess. Not bikes but little battery powered cycles or something. you have to balance on them and use your feet to go forward or back. They were a lot of fun once I got the hang of them. Once we were done with the tour we walked around the Bay street and did a little shopping then headed back to the ship. The next day was a sea day so we spent the whole day on the ship. It was ok. But it was nice to get off the ship and do something. We lounged on deck and soaked up whatever sun there was. Which wasn't much. There were some fun evening shows and the restaurant food wasn't half bad. The next day we were supposed to get off at another island, an island actually owned by Norwegian Cruise lines. And since they own it they didn't actaully having a dock to pull into, they just get as close to the island as possible and then they have little ferry boats come and pick up the passengers and then take you to the shore. Well they decided that it was too windy and it would have been too dangerous to try and get people from the ship to the boat so, we had another sea day. This second day was very boring. The sun was hardly out so it was cold on the deck everyone stayed out of the pools. There were the hardcore spring breakers that were playing in the hot tubs but that is about it. So that day was kind long, but couldn't complain too much we were out on the ocean on a big ship, relaxing and enjoying one another's company... The next day we docked in Miami and we had an Everglades tour. That was a lot of fun. We saw some alligators, we held a baby alligator and we ate some alligator meat. All in all a fun trip...

Tad's Promotion to Captain

Well Tad was promoted to Captain today. We are really proud and happy for him. He can now have his own command which is what he would like. It was a nice small ceremony with 8 others that were getting promoted as well. The Lt. Col. Gave a great little speech about how becoming a captain is different then getting a promotion to 1st Lt. 1st Lt. is a given for anyone doing their job, but Captains are sent in front of a board and only given promotion if they are seen fit to command troops and do a good job. He is excited about this promotion and also the pay raise that it will bring. :) Thanks for all the family support that we got during Tad's deployment. We couldn't do it without you...

Pictures of the Retreat

Army Couples Retreat

When Tad was in Iraq he signed us up for this couples retreat. I thought "it shouldn't be too bad" well I was wrong. It was great. The Army really did it right this time. The resort was amazing, it was outside this little town called Marble Falls, about an hour southwest of Fort Hood. It is called Horseshoe Bay (by marriott) I am not joking when I say this place was amazing. We had a lot of fun. They had child care for the times that we were in class and for when we decided to skip out of the provided meal and eat in the restaurant. There was alone time and time with the family. We really enjoyed the scenery and each other. I think that we learned some good communicating skills to strengthen our marriage. Here are some pictures from our last couple days...

welcome home party!!!!

Here are the pictures that we had taken in the gym right after we found Tad in the massive amount of soldiers. There were 400 soldiers who came home on his flight. The gym was literally packed to the seams. It was hot, but great, more pictures to follow..

We're Back

We are here!!! Back in Texas.. We finally got settled and have Tad home again. I will post some pictures and video once I can get them uploaded.. We decided to live in on-post housing yet again. It will make the move to Georgia all that easier, since I don't have to sign a lease and all that. We actually really like the layout of the house and the area. So we are pleased. Plus they would take our dog without complaint. Everywhere I looked off post didn't want a german shepherd. Oh well. I can understand although our dog is really good. Anyway, Tad made it home safe finally, it seemed like this last week just dragged by minute by excruciating minute, but it was all worth it in the end, he made it and we are all happy to be together again. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. We love you all so much.. Be happy, stay safe... All our love
The Colemans!!!!
